Workshop on Trade, Competition, and Investment at the International Environment House in Geneva, Switzerland

Earlier this year, CIEL, IATP and FoE organized seminar on trade, investment and competition. More than 40 participants including country representatives and NGOs from different parts of the world assisted to this event. Speakers from WTO, UNCTAD, Missions of the Philipines, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, World Trade Institute, SEATANI and CIEL presented a clear overview of the current discussions on potential negotiations on investment and competition in the WTO. Consequences for the developing countries and the civil society in general were also deeply analyzed. The seminar was held at the International Environmental House, Geneva, on 25 and 26 April, 2002.
