Brandon Marks

Finance Campaigner, Petrochemicals

Brandon Marks (he/him) is the Petrochem Finance Campaigner in CIEL’s Fossil Economy program. His work focuses on pushing financial institutions such as banks, insurers, and investors to stop funding the petrochemical industry.

Prior to joining CIEL, Brandon worked with the Texas Campaign for the Environment to stop the expansion of oil, gas, and petrochem infrastructure in the Texas Coastal Bend, where most of his family lives. In particular, Brandon supported local coalition partners, led a team of organizers, and carried out strategic campaigns, including electing two coalition members to the Corpus Christi City Council. Before organizing, Brandon worked in economic development for various non-profits and government offices.

Brandon is based remotely in Mexico City. In his free time, he enjoys reading science fiction novels in the park and playing fetch with his cat.

Brandon graduated from Yale University with a degree in Global Affairs. He speaks both English and Spanish.
