CIEL Experts Available to Comment on UN Summit of the Future and NYC Climate Week 

WASHINGTON, September 18, 2024—Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) experts will be in New York and available for comment during the UN Summit of the Future from September 22-23, and Climate Week NYC 2024 from September 22-28.

As New York City hosts both the opening of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly and Climate Week in September, the world’s attention is sharply focused on the urgent need for climate action. CIEL experts will participate in panel discussions and follow developments, political announcements, and initiatives related to fossil fuel phaseout, climate finance, climate litigation, geoengineering, carbon capture and storage (CCS), human rights including the right to a healthy environment and of future generations, the plastics treaty, and petrochemical buildout.
