Nathalie Eddy
Oil and Gas Legal & Campaign Manager
Nathalie Eddy (she / her) is the Oil and Gas Legal & Campaign Manager for CIEL’s Climate & Energy Program. Nathalie manages CIEL’s team of oil and gas attorneys and campaigners, contributing to strategic legal and policy advocacy, global campaigns, and targeted communications efforts aimed at halting and reversing oil and gas expansion and exposing the fossil fuel industry’s greenwashing tactics.
Prior to joining CIEL, Nathalie contributed to advancing environmental justice in Colorado as the Deputy Director for Environmental Policy for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). She has held roles with Earthworks, Get Outdoors Leadville, the World Resources Institute, the Global Gender and Climate Alliance, Greenpeace, US Climate Action Network, CIEL, and the UNFCCC.
For over 25 years, Nathalie has focused her environmental and legal career on raising the voice of impacted communities and strengthening environmental and human rights laws. From connecting youth to nature at the county level in Colorado, to international efforts to raise the ambition of the Paris Climate agreement, Nathalie strives to drive greater transparency, accountability, and community-driven change. Nathalie’s experience as a Program Assistant with CIEL early in her career was instrumental in shaping her dedication to leveraging legal tools for environmental and human rights protections.
Nathalie earned her J.D. focusing on international law and human rights from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., her D.E.S.S. in environmental law from the Université Robert Schuman (Strasbourg, France) and her B.A in International Affairs and French from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Nathalie lives in Leadville, Colorado. She appreciates high mountain living and spends as much time as possible playing outside in the sun and snow chasing kids and donkeys.
