Alexandra Cólon-Amil

Communications Campaign Specialist

Alexandra Colón-Amil is a Communications Campaign Specialist at the Center for International Environmental Law. Based out of our Washington DC office, she advances CIEL’s communications goals in issue areas like People, Land & Resources, and Climate & Energy.

Alexandra joined CIEL in December 2024 with a decade of diverse experience in strategic communications and multimedia journalism. Previously, she worked at the international news network NTN24, leading production teams and crafting award-winning narratives on topics spanning climate change, immigration, democracy, and human rights. For more than 6 years, Alexandra was the Executive Producer of the global affairs TV show, Efecto Naím, hosted by best-selling author Moisés Naím. She has interviewed Nobel laureates, White House officials, foreign ministers, and heads of state, and collaborated with international institutions like the Inter-American Development Bank.

Alexandra is a Term Member of Council of Foreign Relations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Haverford College and a Masters in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. In her spare time, she enjoys live music and making short documentary films.
