Dharmesh Shah
Consulting Senior Campaigner (Plastics Treaty)
Dharmesh Shah is the Consulting Senior Campaigner with CIEL’s Environmental Health Program and is based out of India. His work focuses primarily on strategy, coordination, support and mobilizing of the diverse coalition of civil society organizations co-leading the efforts to deliver an effective global plastics treaty. Before joining CIEL, he worked independently and as an affiliate with several India based and international organizations on biodiversity, air pollution, chemicals and toxics, hazardous waste, plastic pollution, citizens’ science and environmental health. Through his work with environmental justice struggles and frontline communities in India, most notably the International Campaign for Justice in Bhopal and the Kodaikanal Unilever Mercury disaster, he has had a chance to critically engage with public policies around environmental law, corporate accountability, participatory environmental governance and remedial justice.
Dharmesh holds a Masters in Public Administration from the Lee Kaun Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore and is a Li Ka-Shing Scholar.
