Erin Lyons

Publication Manager

Erin Lyons is the Publications Manager at CIEL. Her work primarily focuses on managing and developing CIEL’s publications and promoting excellence across all knowledge products to promote impactful advocacy wins and foster a greater understanding of the intersectionality of environmental and human rights issues.

Erin serves as the focal point for CIEL’s editorial calendar and supports program staff in developing research designs, executing cutting-edge analysis, and coordinating a multi-pronged quality review process

Before joining CIEL, Erin worked across the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East as an analyst, editor, researcher, translator, and publications specialist. Passionate about peace and security, human rights, sustainable development, and international law, Erin has worked with other NGOs and within the United Nations system to support strategic responses to the underlying drivers of conflict and fragility through compelling communication and analysis.

Erin holds an MA in Global Diplomacy focusing on the MENA region from SOAS University of London, an MA in Translation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies, and a BA in Romance Languages from the University of Chicago. She speaks six languages: English, Arabic, French, Italian, Spanish, and Swedish.

In her spare time, Erin volunteers as an instructor of international humanitarian law for the American Red Cross.
