From September 9-11, 2009, CIEL participated in an international seminar on States’ Extraterritorial Obligations Related to Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, held at Lancaster University in England.
Organized by Lancaster University’s Law School, this workshop provided an opportunity to examine the theoretical and practical aspects of the concepts of extraterritorial human rights obligations in a globalized world.
Presenting in a panel focusing on extraterritorial human rights obligations in a wider global picture, Marcos Orellana of CIEL discussed the relevance of extraterritorial human rights obligations to environmental law.
