The World Bank is an international financial institution whose шission is to provide loans and Credits to developing countries for projects that alleviate poverty and promote social and economic development.
Among the Bank’s more egregious and well-docнmented failings is its inability to successfully rehabilitate
the people and communities whose land is appropriated to make way for development projects.
This paper gives a brief over-view of some of the more critical issues at stake in revision of the World Bank resettlement policy.
